Online EPF Withdrawal

Employee Provident fund(EPF) a scheme by Government for the employees. EPF withdrawal is claimed by the employee if he is unemployed or at retirement. Only 75% of the EPF balance can be withdrawn after one month of unemployment and 25 the balance can be withdrawn after two months of unemployment. You can claim a refund by filling out the EPF withdrawal form online. Note that you can use the Online Return Claim Facility only if your Adhar is connected to your UAN.

Follow the steps given below to fill the EPF withdrawal form and initiate a claim online:-

 Sign in to the UAN Member Portal with your UAN and Password.

#Step 2
 From the menu on top, click on the ‘Online Services’ tab and select ‘Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)’ from the drop-down menu.

#Step 3
The details of the member will flash on the screen. Enter the last 4 digits of your bank account and click on “Verify”.

#Step 4
 Click on the “Yes” to sign the certificate of the undertaking and proceed further.

#Step 5 Now click on the “Proceed for Online Claim” option
#Step 6 Select “PF Advance (Form 31)” or form 19 to withdraw your funds online.

Step 7 – A fresh section of the form will get open from there you have to select the option  “Purpose for which advance is required”, the Amount required and the employee’s address to be feed.
It is important to note that all options the employees are not eligible for withdrawal will be mentioned in red.
Step 8 – Click on the certification and submit your application
Step 9 – It may ask you to submit the scanned documents depending on the purpose for which you have filled the form.
Step 10 – Your employer will approve the withdrawal request, after which the amount can be withdraw from your EPF account and the amount will be deposited in the bank account mentioned at the time of filling the withdrawal form.
A confirmation SMS will be sent to the mobile number registered with EPFO. Once the claim is processed, the amount will be transferred into the bank account which is updated in the EPFO. The money usually gets credited within 15-20 days, well there is no formal time limit is been provided by the EPFO.
At the time of filing an online withdrawal claim, you will find three EPF withdrawal forms –
  • PF Advance (Form – 31)
  • Only Pension Withdrawal- Form 10C
  • Only PF Withdrawal- Form 19

EPF Advance/Partial Withdrawal – Form 31

Individuals can fill out a withdrawal form, only part of their EPF corpus can be withdrawn to meet emergency needs during the term of their employment. If you are lagging behind on unemployment you will need to fill out the form 31. The purpose of the withdraw must be mentioned clearly. The amount claimed in the form depends on the allowable limit and the funds deposited in the member's EPF account. Reasons for withdrawal can be medical reasons, marriage, higher education, etc.
EPF Complete Refund / Final Settlement - Form 19.
This form is filled out to withdraw the entire accumulated PF amount at the time of retirement. Also known as the "final settlement". You need to fill in your personal details and job details like your departure date, the reason for leaving the service, date of joining service, PAN, UAN, and Aadhaar number, bank account details, full postal address, etc. 

Pension Withdrawal – Form 10C

If you want to withdraw your pension, you must fill out Form 10C. That way, if you are withdrawing your PF on the basis of unemployment, you will have to fill out Form 31 and Form 10C. The fields on this form are similar to those in Form 19. The pension amount is regulated through the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1950. The PF amount is managed by the Employees Provident Fund Scheme, 1952. So if you want to withdraw both the PF and the pension, you will need to fill out both forms separately.
