An important Hindu festival Ganesh Chaturthi celebrated with great devotion all over India. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha, an elephant's headed son of Bhagwan Shiva and goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesha is a symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and fortune.
This is celebrated on the Shukla Chaturthi of the Hindu month of Bhadra (usually arriving between August and September). The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Hindus. People bring the idols of Ganesh into their homes and worship. The festival period ranges from 1 day to 11 days, depending on the place and tradition. On the last day of the festival, idols are taken out in colorful and musical processions and traditionally submerged in water.

Ganesh Puja is preferred during Madhyahna or Mid Day because it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhya Kala. Shodashopachara Ganapati Puja is done by devotees through the mantra of Puranic mantras.
Deep Prajavalan (Divine Light) and Sankalpa Puja are done before the commencement and after that Shudhashupara Puja, A Puja of 16 steps is performed. These include chanting of mantras, installation of idols, bathing idols and numerous offerings to the deity.
In Mumbai, Ganesh Visarjan is conducted under the guidance of Ganapati Mandals. The street procession is carried out with drums, rods and other traditional instruments. Until the next morning, Ganesha Visarjan continues overnight.
Many families perform Ganesh immersion on the 3rd, 5th or 7th day, but not on the 11th day according to Gandhi tradition. Ganesha's idol submerged in tub or bucket water.
The visarjan will take place on the 12th(Thursday) of the September month 2019.
