Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree: This is the basic requirement to be a data analyst in India. A person should be a graduate in a relevant field like Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering.     Data Entry Operator:-  Data entry operator (DEO) is an entry-level job in an organisation if you want to become a Data analyst. You can develop certain skill sets to become a Data analyst like advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, Tablue, R, and Python.

    Microsoft Excel is the basic requirement. You should know the formulae and functions to do the day-to-day tasks.

    MIS operator:- MIS operator, MIS, and MIS analyst are some common names who prepare reports. The MIS operator is the profile above the data entry operator.

    His basic work is to make the reports from the given data where the data entry operator just enters the data into a database like Excel.

    A person who has an MIS profile can become a Data analyst too. It will be an easier task for an MIS person compared to a data entry operator. He may know advanced Excel better.

    The next step will be to learn some data visualization tools like Power BI, Tablue, R.
    For data manipulation, one can learn SQL, MySQL, and Postgresql.
