CAT EXAM 2019
IIM-CAT is the required MBA admission test for admission to the flagship PGP (Postgraduate Program in Management) in all 20 IIMs. The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 exam will be held in the morning and afternoon sessions on Sunday, November 24, 2019.
The deadline for CAT Registration 2019 has been announced by IIM Kozhikode which is conducting CAT this year. The last date for CAT registration 2019 is September 18, 2019. The registration fee of CAT 2019 is Rs 1900 / - (Rs. 950 for SC / ST type). There is no other fee need to pay to apply to any Indian Institute of Management. Candidates need to complete the online CAT registration in the 20 IIMs MBA Admission 2020 by logging into the official CAT website.

There are a few changes that have happened in CAT 2019 are
- After the MBA CAT notification, candidates can fill the form 5 August 2019.
- The CAT Exam is to take admission in MBA.
- The IIM Kozhikode will conduct the CAT Exam 2019 on November 24, 2019, and it will be conducted in two sessions, divided into MCQ and non MCQ questions.
- There is an increment in many test cities from 147 to 156 this year.
- There is an option to choose 4 test cities out of 156 while applying for CAT 2019.
- The exam duration is 3 hours
- There is no Age bar and the eligibility is 50% in graduation
IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER
- The starting date of registration is August 7, 2019, with the registration fee is Rs. 1900
- Last Date to apply is September 18, 2019
- Admit Card download start date is October 23, 2019
- Exam Date is November 24, 2019
- Result date is January 7, 2019
- CAT exam is a computer-based test of 3 hours duration
- CAT exam will be having 100 questions divided into 3 sections of VARC, DILR and Quantitative Ability.
- Out of 100 questions in CAT 2019, there are around 25 questions that will not have negative marking. CAT 2019 is divided into two parts i.e. MCQ and Non-MCQ. The Non-MCQs do not carry any negative marking.
- A Minimum qualifying score between 70 to 90 percentile in CAT 2019 is required by IIMs in each of the 3 sections to shortlist candidates for final admission round
- Apart from High score in each of the 3 sections in the CAT exam, you need to have a good academic profile, diversity, to get into IIMs.
CAT 2019 Exam Syllabus
The CAT Exam has changed a lot in the last 2 or 3 years and the biggest change is that few questions do not carry any negative marking. Most of the changes taken place in the sections of VARC.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
This is the first section in the CAT Exam 2019
- No. of questions are 34
- Total time is 60 Minutes
- Marks for each correct answer is +3 and -1 for each wrong question.
- There are around 8-10 questions that will have no negative marking
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
This is the second section in the CAT Exam 2019
- No. of questions are n DI 16 and 16 in LR
- Total time is 60 Minutes
- Marks for each correct answer is +3 and -1 for each wrong question.
- There are around 8 questions that will have no negative marking
QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE
This is the third section in the CAT Exam 2019
- No. of questions are 34
- Total time is 60 Minutes
- Marks for each correct answer is +3 and -1 for each wrong question.
